Position Description
UC San Diego Health is seeking a Hospital Complex Account Specialist to join our nationally recognized revenue cycle team. This is a unique opportunity to work on advanced and life-saving treatments, including Solid Organ Transplant, Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), and CAR T-cell therapy. What You’ll Do: Manage end-to-end billing and collections for high-dollar, complex accounts. Prepare and submit clean claims for hospital and professional services. Resolve denials, submit appeals, and secure payment across government and commercial payors. Collaborate with financial coordinators, authorization teams, and clinical staff to ensure accurate billing and compliance. Qualifications
Three (3+) years of hospital billing and collections experience (acute care preferred). Strong knowledge of insurance billing rules, UB-04, revenue codes, and coding principles (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS). Experience with Epic or similar billing systems. Ability to analyze accounts, resolve issues, and communicate effectively with payors.
