About this position
Position Description
Under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, the Outpatient Pharmacy Technician II/III performs a full range of duties in a retail pharmacy setting and able to perform all general tasks in all areas of the pharmacy. They will assist the pharmacist in preparation of medications for patient use according to established procedures; facilitates in the distribution of medications including delivery of medications to the patient's bedside (Med-2-Bed program); performs computer order entry, record keeping, and billing functions; maintains inventory levels; and performs other duties as assigned. Will perform assigned operational duties in a scheduled area and will assist pharmacists in completing medication orders and related distribution duties in different pharmacy areas. Depending on experience and licensure of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Pharmacy Tech level II or level III.
Qualifications
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required for Pharmacy Tech III. Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy required for both Pharmacy Tech II/III. Minimum of two (2) years for Pharmacy Tech II of retail experience is required. Minimum of five (5) years for Pharmacy Tech III of retail experience is required. Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology and calculations. Proficient computer experience and accurate data entry skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
