Position Description
Applies skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry-wide business process and analysis practices and organizational policies and procedures. Resolves a wide range of business process issues of moderate to complex scope. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions. Configures, operates and maintains all hardware and software including, Metasys Site Management Portal (SMP) Metasys User Interface (MUI), Metasys ADX Server, Metasys SGT, Metasys GGT, MUI Graphics, Metasys CCT, SCT, MCT, APLY applications, Metasys Tools, Metasys NAEs and SNEs, Metasys LCT, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Visio, EPLAN Electrical Drawing, Siemens Controllers and SIMATIC, Sequence Testing, lighting software such as Watt stopper, Lutron, N-light, Cooper LC&D and Blue Box. Maintain controller interface with Operator Workstations, Laptops, and Network and field-level Controllers. Possesses working knowledge of Metasys Extended Architecture (MESA), Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and 2019, HVAC Pro, GX 9100 Ladder Logic, M-Tools, and TCP/IP Internet Protocols. Performs system-level configuration and coordination of software and hardware upgrades for the Johnson Controls Metasys system, including site installation, commissioning, and sequence testing. Archive data from all global programming, convert SMP and MUI graphics, scheduling, historical files, trend files, totalization files, alarm files and operator transaction files. Supports the secure operation of the Johnson Controls Metasys system by coordinating user access, enforcing password protection standards, and maintaining alignment with institutional IT security policies. Coordinates documentation and validation of system performance criteria to ensure reliable data for decision-making. Collaborates with facilities, energy management, and IT teams to identify opportunities and develop system-wide recommendations that improve energy efficiency and load management. Provides functional coordination and analytical support for the implementation of pilot software solutions, such as SkySpark, to enhance integration and data exchange between Metasys and EnergyCap systems. Serves as a liaison among Central Utilities Plant staff, campus departments, and external contractors to troubleshoot issues and promote consistent operational practices.
Qualifications
Proven ability to program Johnson Controls Hvac Pro, GX 9100 Ladder logic, M-Tools, TCP/IP Internet Protocol, BACnet, Metasys Extended Architecture (MESA) Microsoft SQL, Metasys User Interface (MUI), Metasys ADX Server, Metasys Logic Connector Tool (LCT), Controller Configuration Tool (CCT), System Configuration Tool (SCT), (MCT), (APLT), Metasys Tools, Microsoft Windows. Demonstrated administrator-level knowledge of the Johnson Controls Metasys Energy Management System Including Metalink application. Solid experience with fundamental energy management principles. General knowledge of major mechanical, lighting, electrical and electronic systems/software common to any utilities plant. Basic knowledge of electrical systems to include: electric generating units and automated electrical ties to campus electrical distribution system. Intermediate knowledge of related areas of IT. Demonstrated knowledge of computer and data communication architectures. Knowledge relating to software design. Demonstrated skill and knowledge in the use and configuration of plant-related software, database management. Proficient with electronic mail programs, communication software, and diagnostic tools. Proven knowledge of software maintenance and data management techniques. Computer networking experience with Ethernet and Arcnet protocol systems. Strong analytic, inductive and deductive reasoning skills. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
