Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in the Cardiology Clinic, the LVN performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. Position requires initiative, able to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment. Job duties to include but are not limited to direct patient care for rooming patients, taking accurate vital signs, providing immunizations for cardiology, transplant and heart failure patients, EKGs, providing medication refills, and educating patients.
Qualifications
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - issued by the state of California. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Two years minimum LVN experience. Must possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. Knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics. Ability to take initiative, prioritize critical demands and work in a team environment.
