The Nurse Supervisor plays a key role in supporting patients, families, and clinical teams while maintaining the highest professional standards of care, in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics. Under the general supervision of the Director of Cardiovascular Clinics, the Nurse Supervisor is responsible for supervision of clinic operations, including planning and performing both direct and indirect nursing interventions. This role includes overseeing the clinical care provided by UC San Diego Health, ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. In collaboration with leaders and staff, the Nurse Supervisor will be responsible for managing staffing, resource allocation, and ensuring both patient and team safety. This position requires strong competence in care coordination, particularly in facilitating patient access to multidisciplinary services, including specialties, mental health, and psychosocial resources. Effective leadership and communication skills are essential to engage the team in continuous performance improvement initiatives. The Nurse Supervisor works closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, high-quality care. This includes assisting in the optimization of administrative efficiencies within the clinical areas and exercising independent judgment in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the units with minimal administrative oversight. Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of California. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. A minimum of five (5) or more years of relevant experience with at least one or more years in ambulatory clinic settings to include Cardiovascular patients (General cardiology, EP, CT surgery. Supervisory experience to include charge nurse and or clinic supervisor. Strong ability to communicate proficiently orally and in writing, including competence and confidence in leading team meetings. Excellent interpersonal and planning skills to interact with physicians and staff at various skill and licensure levels. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and with patients and their families. Compassionate caregiver with a holistic perspective of patient and family-centered care.
