About this position
Position Description
Under direction of the SN Manager, responsible for managing and maintaining the UC San Diego Health ServiceNow application for Information Services. Works with other UC San Diego Health departments to assess current state processes and tools to define ServiceNow requirements, and develop, configure and maintain the ServiceNow platform in order to support these requests. Responsible for the delivery of end-to-end solutions within ServiceNow, including architecting technical implementations of IT and business processes, and coordinating those efforts with IT Management and UCI SN administrators. Serve as the lead in loading, manipulating and maintaining data between ServiceNow and other systems. Primary Responsibilities: Serves as the primary point of escalation for the Health ServiceNow team. Ensures system stability, integrity and compliance. Mentors Junior Developer(s) to ensure quality of work and serves as a technical team lead. Develops ServiceNow software solutions and Service Portal pages using JavaScript, AngularJS, Bootstrap, Jelly, one or more Web Services, MYSQL, XML, HTML and CSS. Analyze, understand, and provide requested enhancements to existing ServiceNow applications. Advanced scripting of business rules, UI Policies, Client Scripts, ACLs, Workflow Activities, etc. Provide advanced support for ServiceNow by troubleshooting, fixing bugs and conducting root cause analysis. Facilitate and support the rollout of new applications and enhancements in ServiceNow. Advise functional and administrative teams on design, development and overall ServiceNow best practices. Work with functional and admin teams to deliver automated workflow solutions in ServiceNow.
Qualifications
Nine (9) years or more of related experience, education/training combination of ServiceNow and applications development; OR a Bachelor’s Degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training combination of ServiceNow and applications development. Advanced knowledge of secure software development. Highly advanced skills associated with software specification, design, modification, implementation and deployment of large-scale scope. Excellent project leadership and management skills. Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans. Advanced experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums. Advanced experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms. Demonstrated software repository skills. Experience developing and executing complex test plans. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrated complex problem- solving skills.
