Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in the assigned clinic, performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. This includes prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, and patient education. Position requires initiative, able to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment. May perform other related duties as assigned. This position supports four Women’s Health clinicians and plays a significant role in assisting with medical procedures, as well as administrative duties such as answering patient messages, scheduling, coordinating disability paperwork, handling prior authorizations, and ordering and managing supplies and pharmaceuticals. This position may be hired at the LVN or Sr. LVN level depending on experience of the selected candidate The location for this position will be Pacific Highlands Ranch.

Qualifications

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - issued by the state of California. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Demonstrated recent experience in a similar role and setting. Two (2) years of LVN experience required to be hired at the Sr. LVN level. Requires knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics. Must possess the skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
