The Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion is an outpatient clinical facility on UC San Diego Health's La Jolla campus. The facility includes eight surgery suites, performs surgical services in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Total Joints, Urology, Plastics, general, Breast Oncology, Head and Neck, ENT, Gynecology, Pain Management, Family Planning and Robotic surgery. The four-floor, 156,000-square-foot facility opened in March 2018. The Clinical Nurse identifies and implements nursing interventions and evaluates results for a wide variety of patient populations, directs and acts as resource to other members of the nursing team as assigned and promotes compliance and support for policies. Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position. The schedule for this opening is Monday–Friday, 10-hour shifts (06:30 am-17:00 or 08:30 am-19:00 start times). Schedule details will be discussed with the final candidate during the interview stage.

Qualifications

Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing. RN License issued by the State of California. BART or BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Must have at least 2+ years of recent inpatient and/or outpatient OR experience. Experience with various service lines (at least 2 of the following): orthopedic, general, urology, GYN, ENT, MIS, plastics & robotics. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
