The Gastroenterology RN provides pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopy procedures. The RN identifies and implements nursing interventions and evaluates results for a wide variety of patient populations. The RN assists physician with endoscopy procedures; provides moderate sedation under the direction of the physician; and other duties as assigned. Floating is required. Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position. These RN job opening will support our GI procedures at all GI sites -- pre, intra and post.
Qualifications
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing. RN License issued by the State of California. BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date. A minimum of two (2) years of recent acute care RN experience within GI procedures. Must have two (2) years of recent pre, intra, post op GI procedures experience. Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions. Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communications skills.
