About this position
Position Description
Working under direct supervision, responsible and accountable for all activities and competencies related to sterile processing. Ensures that instrumentation and equipment needed for surgery and various medical exams have been sterilized and assembled in accordance with regulatory guidelines and hospital policy. Ensures compliance with all record keeping requirements. Assists with ordering and procuring equipment and instrumentation as needed. These open positions will be either: (A) Evening Shifts Monday-Friday with Rotating Weekends (B) Night-Shift Tuesday-Saturday or (C) Night-Shift Wednesday-Sunday The shift will be discussed and finalized with the successful applicants who are moving to the interview stage. Selected applicants may be hired at the Sterile Processing Tech II or III level depending on the candidate's qualification and experience.
Qualifications
Must possess the abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. Sterile Processing Tech Certification (CRCST, CPSPD) (for Tech III) BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Must have two (2) years of recent experience in a similar role and setting. (for Tech II) Must have three (3) years of recent experience in a similar role and setting. (for Tech III) Knowledge of Medical Terminology Demonstrated skill and proficiency with a variety of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and equipment Knowledge of effective inventory storage and retrieval practices Demonstrated skill and knowledge in the decontamination, disinfection and sterilization procedures of surgical instruments Completion of SPD course (for Tech III)
