UC San Diego Health Sciences encompasses UC San Diego Health, the region's only academic health system, UC San Diego School of Medicine, one of the nation's top research-intensive medical schools, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Southern California's first public school of pharmacy, and Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science. UC San Diego Health Sciences' mission is to deliver outstanding patient care through commitment to the community, groundbreaking research and inspired teaching. The division of Medical Education within the UC San Diego School of Medicine consists of the following units: Undergraduate Medical Education, Admissions & Student Affairs, Diversity and Community Partnerships, Graduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education & Faculty Development, Simulation Education, Physician Assistant Education, Anatomical Services, Business Affairs and Educational Technology. The division supports the education, training and co-curricular activities of approximately 560 medical students, 90 physician assistant students, 1000 residents and fellows as well as the faculty, physician and healthcare providers at UCSD’s School of Medicine, its' Medical Centers, and affiliates. Under supervision, the incumbent serves concurrently as the Compassion in Medicine Academic Concentration (CIMAC) Coordinator and Program Coordinator within the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education. Applies knowledge about curriculum, established policies and guidelines, requirements and educational activities to coordinate professional health education programs. Coordinates and maintains program operations, which may include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation. Compassion in Medicine Academic Concentration (CIMAC) Coordinator: Supports the CIMAC Faculty Director to implement and advance CIMAC program initiatives. Oversees elective course coordination and supports students and faculty associate with program. The role will be responsible for milestone tracking, travel logistics, event coordination, financial transactions, and overall administrative support for CIMAC. Develops and maintains databases to monitor participation and outcomes, generates reports for leadership. UGME Program Coordinator:Provides flexible administrative, project, and operational support across Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) programs, with responsibilities assigned based on programmatic needs and priorities. Support may include course and clerkship coordination, elective scheduling, program requirement tracking, and committee activities. Coordinates scheduling, tracks learner progress and completion of requirements, facilitates communication with faculty, staff, and students, and serves as a liaison among internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective program delivery. Contributes to special projects and cross-functional efforts to support evolving UGME priorities.

Qualifications

Six years of related experience, education/training, OR an Bachelor’s degree in related area plus two years of related experience/training. Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry. Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program. Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner. Must have excellent communication skills. Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners. Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision. Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues. Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems. Ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner. Demonstrated ability to analyze and seek solutions to enhance user experience.
