About this position
Position Description
Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in the assigned clinic, performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. This includes prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, assistance with in-clinic procedures, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, and patient education. Position requires initiative, able to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment. Other duties as assigned. Job standards are to be performed at the EXPERT level.
Qualifications
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - issued by the state of California. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Demonstrated LVN experience in direct patient care. Proven skills in accurately taking and recording vital signs, height and weight. Experience administering medication including injections; interviewing patients; and collecting and/or testing specimens.
