Position Description
Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides a broad range of patient care services to support clinic operations. Responsibilities include prioritizing and assisting with patient triage and flow, preparing patients for examination and procedures, administering medications, collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, and providing patient education. The LVN also assists during clinical procedures and ensures high-quality, compassionate care. This position requires strong initiative, the ability to manage competing priorities effectively, and a commitment to collaborative teamwork within a fast-paced clinical environment.
Qualifications
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) issued by the state of California. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Two (2) years of demonstrated LVN experience in direct patient care. Strong skills in accurately taking and recording vital signs, height, and weight; administering medication, including injections; interviewing patients; and collecting and/or testing specimens. Requires knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics. Excellent communication skills. Ability to take initiative, prioritize critical demands, exercise independent judgement and work in a team environment.
