Position Description
The Audiologist will be responsible for administering and interpreting diagnostic and neurodiagnostic tests in the field of audiology and vestibular function. Performs diagnostic, habilitative, rehabilitative, and research activities related to hearing and balance disorders. The Audiologist will also provide clinical supervision of Au.D. students. Requires specialized postgraduate training in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with hearing loss and balance disorders. Qualifications
Master's Degree in Audiology or Doctorate of Audiology (AuD). Audiologist (CCC-A). Minimum of two (2) years of related experience to qualify for hire at the Sr. Audiologist level. Experience performing audiological and balance evaluation and treatment for primarily adult populations. Postgraduate training and experience administering standard audiologic tests; including puretone testing, speech audiometry, immittance (tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, multicomponent/multifrequency tympanometry), otoacoustic emission (OAE), and speech perception testing. Postgraduate training and experience in selection, fitting and verification of hearing aids and assistive listening devices. Basic hearing aid repair. Experience performing auditory evoked potential testing (BAER, EcoG, VEMP) and interpreting results related to hearing loss and vestibular disorders. Experience in describing to physicians the audiological test findings and amount of social disability resulting from a hearing loss. Experience providing aural habilitative/rehabilitative counseling services, including selection of assistive listening devices. Experience providing ototoxic monitoring services for inpatient and outpatient populations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
