Position Description
Under general supervision, and in addition to performing the full range of operational level duties, responsible for administering licensed social service programs or relevant work. Provides licensed social work services consisting of discharge planning, continuing care services, and clinical social work services, including crisis intervention, mandated reporting, information and referral, and coordination of health and mental health services with community providers. The Clinical Social Worker is responsible for working in the Emergency Department – outpatient setting - Providing clinical support to the patient population with individual and support system interventions, resource education and access, homeless patient poly substance abuse/dependence, complex care management, grief, end of life, change in functioning levels, discharge planning, crisis intervention, safety planning, and care management planning. Weekends, holidays, and covering for vacations & sick time Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A Master's degree from an accredited school of social work (MSW) and possession of the requirements necessary for application for licensure as a clinical social worker as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners. At least two (2) years of post-MSW experience. To be considered for the Clinical Social Worker III, the candidate must have at least three (3) years of post-MSW experience and be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. Must have proven independent thinking, decision-making, problem-solving and prioritizing skills.
