Position Description
The ED Tech works as a team member in an assigned area to assist with vital signs, perform EKGs, assist in ADLs, stock supplies, utilize safe patient handling to reposition and transport patients, provide comfort measures, and assist with patient care under the direct supervision of the RN. The ED Tech also collects and documents patient care data, applies cardiac monitor devices, transports laboratory specimens, assists the nurse and physician with procedures, and performs secretarial duties as needed.
Qualifications
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Minimum six (6) months of experience in an emergency department, pre-hospital, acute care, or comparable settings. Demonstrated computer knowledge and skills.
