Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner or Physician in Women’s Health Services, performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. This includes prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, and patient education. Position requires initiative, able to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment.
Qualifications
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license issued by the State of California. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Must have recent experience, within one year, in urology-based procedures to include catheter placement and care; Posterior Tibial Nerve Stimulation; bladder instillations, setting up and assisting with cystoscopy procedures, management of sterile technique and set up. Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the outpatient/ambulatory setting with familiarity with ambulatory requirements and processes. Previous experience working in an outpatient Women's Health clinic and/or urology (minimum two (2) years LVN experience required for senior level). Requires knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics. Ability to take initiative, prioritize critical demands and work in a team environment.
