About this position
Position Description
Under direct supervision of the clinic manager and the general supervision of the clinic providers and licensed nursing staff, performs work which requires specific knowledge and training in patient care duties within business and professions code of the State of California and/or the regulations The Joint Commission (TJC). These duties include, but are not limited to: scheduling patient appointments and managing associated patient system workflows; ensuring accurate billing; performing environmental care functions; managing equipment and supplies; preparing and maintaining sterile fields and procedural setups; and cleaning/disinfecting the clinical environment. The role also includes assisting providers during procedures to ensure efficiency, safety, and adherence to sterile technique. This position requires knowledge of medical terminology, online scheduling systems, universal precautions, sterile processing and setup, and proper body mechanics. It also requires initiative, strong prioritization skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Qualifications
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Requires knowledge of medical terminology, online scheduling, universal precautions, and proper use of body mechanics. Proven ability to take initiatives, prioritize demands and work in a team environment.Previous relevant experience.
