About this position
Position Description
Under general supervision, performs a variety of work duties which requires specific knowledge and training in patient care duties within business and professions code of the State of California and/or the regulations The Joint Commission (TJC). These duties also include but are not limited to: environmental care functions, equipment/supply management and cleaning/disinfecting the environment. Incumbents may also provide front office services on a routine or back-up basis, including management of scheduling work queues. The Lead Medical Assistant provides training and oversees other medical assistants and serves as a resource for the entire department. Responsibilities include providing direction, scheduling and training. The Lead Medical Assistant Initiates and participates in improvement efforts which directly impact the clinic. Other Lead duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Three (3) years of Medical Assistant experience. Knowledge of medical terminology, on-line scheduling, universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
