Position Description
UC San Diego Health's Infusion pharmacy seeks a highly motivated and compassionate pharmacist to join our team. This position will focus on providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients receiving chemotherapy infusions within the ambulatory oncology settings of Moores Cancer Center and Koman Outpatient Pavilion. Responsibilities: Medication Review and Verification: Review and verify chemotherapy regimens for accuracy and appropriateness, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Chemotherapy Admixture and Dispensing: Oversee and participate in the preparation and dispensing of chemotherapy medications, adhering to strict safety protocols and quality standards. Patient Counseling: Provide comprehensive patient counseling on medications to infusion center patients. Preceptorship: Serve as a preceptor to pharmacy residents and students, providing guidance and mentorship on clinical practice and patient care. Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the safety and effectiveness of oncology care.
Qualifications
Doctorate of Pharmacy degree or equivalent clinical experience. Registered Pharmacist - issued by the state of California (RPH) Incumbents can meet the minimum experience qualifications for this position in 1 of 3 ways:1) possesses a PGY2 or 2) possesses a PGY1 plus 1 year of pharmacist experience, or 3) possesses 4 years of pharmacist experience.
