Position Description

Under direct supervision of the clinic manager and the general supervision of the clinic providers and licensed nursing staff, performs work which requires specific knowledge and training in patient care duties within business and professions code of the State of California and/or the regulations The Joint Commission (TJC). Duties include but are not limited to: Rooming patients for OB/Gyn providers, stocking, cleaning, checking expiration dates, supply inventory, instrument processing, lab specimen processing and follow up. Chaperoning, assisting with procedures/exams and reviews AVS with patients. Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology, universal precautions, and proper use of body mechanics. Incumbent also demonstrates initiative, the ability to prioritize demands, and the ability to work in a team environment.

Qualifications

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Three (3) years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient setting. Knowledge of medical terminology.
