Under the general supervision of a registered nurse in the assigned clinic, the senior LVN performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. Duties include prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparing and assisting with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, and patient education. The position requires initiative, the ability to prioritize critical demands, and the ability to work in a team environment. Depending on the experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the LVN or Sr. LVN level.

Qualifications

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) issued by the state of California. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Recent experience in a similar role and setting. (A minimum of two (2) years of LVN experience is required to be hired at the Sr. LVN level.) Completion of educational requirements for licensure as a licensed vocationalnurse in California. Must possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. Knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics. Demonstrated experience working with a team to provide high-quality patient care. Ability to take initiative, prioritize critical demands, and work in a team environment.
