Position Description
The UC San Diego Rady School of Management provides exceptional business education through its many academic degree programs. The Salesforce CRM Admin handles first tier day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance, and system improvement of the Rady School of Management's CRM and Business Intelligence platforms maintaining the School of Management’s investment in the Salesforce and TargetX platforms. This position interacts with UC San Diego Rady School of Management leaders and staff to identify, develop and deploy new business processes, focusing on the Rady School's admissions and recruitment functions. In addition, this position uses rapport-building skills and client collaboration skills during project discussions, resulting in clear expectations and successful implementations. Specific duties include: Serves on a team of system administrators for the TargetX and core Salesforce.com CRM environments and related critical infrastructure. Handles all basic administrative functions, including user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, workflows, and other routine tasks. Designs and implements new processes and facilitates user adoption. Manages Salesforce.com data feeds and other integrations. Coordinates the evaluation, scope, and completion of new development requests. Works with Rady management teams to establish suitable processes to support administrative, development, and change management activities. Assists in training new users, onboarding, and growing the TargetX and SalesForce.com skill set across the Rady program teams. Communicates project progression, organizes meetings, solicits and guides feedback activities, especially when adjustments to project goals, expectations, and timelines are necessary. Fielding day-to-day support requests through Jira Service Desk ticketing system. As part of the growing Rady CRM team, this position demonstrates a high degree of self-initiative and commitment to expanding skills and expertise via self-study, collaboration, working/mentoring with colleagues, and internal and external training. Able to work on administration tasks on their own and may initiate analysis phases of application support. This position leads small to medium projects, interacts with managers, users, faculty, technical and non-technical staff, both within and outside the Rady School. The position leads project meetings, solicits user feedback, develops specs, negotiates timeframes and deliverables, monitors timelines and deliverables, and reports on project progress. Hybrid/remote schedule: 2 days each week in the office on the UCSD La Jolla campus, and 3 days worked from home. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required (rare). Qualifications
Strong experience with best practices and functionality re: SalesForce.com and TargetX platforms. Experience building custom apps and objects, formula fields, workflows, custom views and other content of intermediate complexity. Experience with common programming tools. Intermediate skills associated with the design, development, modification and deployment of software, including object-oriented programming concepts. Experience leading projects of small to medium complexity (i.e. identify scope of project, estimate timelines & milestones) under a deadline. Project management/organizational skills; ability to adapt to changing priorities and changing deadlines. Excellent prioritization, time management, and multi-tasking skills. Experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms. Advanced knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) to group, analyze, and transform data. Ability to generate moderately complex reports/tables using diverse data sets within RDMS environments. Strong knowledge of relevant internal databases, BI applications and tools such as Tableau and Cognos. Ability to produce high-quality reports and documentation. Ability to use dashboard intelligence platforms (i.e., IBM Cognos, Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server), enterprise performance management software, and other analytical technologies. Demonstrated experience with complex spreadsheets, tables, graphs, and PowerPoint slides. Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Leadership skills. Demonstrated software repository skills, testing and test planning skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Rapport-building skills; client interaction skills. Experience interacting with users/clients of diverse backgrounds and technical awareness to identify the key components of a process. Experience interviewing line managers to expedite streamlining of processes, guiding discussions, and clarifying uncertain/unknown steps of a process. Strong problem-solving skills. Experience managing complex information, assessing problems, and developing effective solutions. Experience providing insightful data-driven analysis. Extensive experience mining data from multiple sources and databases using SQL, Access, pivot tables and other query tools. Knowledge of other IT related areas. Experience with developing software applications involved with confidential or protected data. Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on SalesForce.com and TargetX. Preferred: Salesforce Administrator Certification, higher or equivalent. Experience working in a higher education/university setting, and/or experience working with admissions/recruitment, registrar, enrollment, and student based data systems, especially confidential information. Experience with UCSD Data Warehouse, UCSD Link products, and UCSD ISIS. Knowledge of software development methodologies: Extreme, SCRUM, Rapid prototype, etc.
