Position Description
Under general supervision of the Clinic Manager, the Front Desk Coordinator acts as a point of contact for patients. The position performs and participates in front office patient centered duties, to include, but not limited to, greeting patients, co-pay collection, appointmentscheduling, authorizations and referrals. The position acts as a resource for patients and assists physicians, staff, and ambulatory care service managers as needed.
Qualifications
A minimum of three (3) years of related experience to include one(1) year of front desk/receptionist and scheduling experience in a health care setting. Proven experience with insurance and authorization verification. Prior cash handling experience. Possess demonstrated knowledge of third party payors including federal, state, and private health plans. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to work in an interactive environment and possess excellent customer service skills both in person and over phone. Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences.
