Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in the assigned department, performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. This includes prioritizing and assisting with patient triage; processing, preparing, and assisting with patient examinations; administering medications; drawing blood; collecting and preparing laboratory tests; providing patient education; and performing venipuncture and IV access. Position requires initiative, the ability to prioritize critical demands, and the ability to work in a team environment. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - issued by the state of California. Certification in Intravenous Therapy issued by the state of California (LVN IV). BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. A minimum of two (2) years of recent LVN experience in direct patient care or a similar setting. Detail-oriented with strong care coordination and scheduling skills, able to balance multiple priorities while ensuring timely and accurate workflows. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and communicate effectively across care teams. Proficient with computer systems and applications. Must possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
