Enrollment Management (EM) is a multi-unit department within the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor-Academic Affairs. The department is led by the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management (AVC EM), who serves as the Chief Enrollment Officer and Chief Outreach Officer of the University. EM comprises multiple high-profile, core functional units including: the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of the Registrar, Financial Aid & Scholarships Office, Cal-SOAP, Creative Services, Enrollment Analytics, and the Business Office. We work to advance the academic and public service missions of UC San Diego by ensuring equitable access to education and empowering students throughout their educational journeys. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions leads the university's efforts to identify, recruit, admit and enroll the next generation of UC San Diego Tritons with particular focus on talented, academically capable, California students, representative of the diversity of the people of California. The mission of the office includes increasing the visibility of UC San Diego in California, the nation and world, through marketing and on- and off- campus recruitment activities to prospective first-year and transfer students and their families; school counselors; community college leaders and advisors; community based organizations; and educational organizations serving groups historically underrepresented on our campus. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions hosts more than 80,000 visitors and receives, processes, and reviews over 150,000 applications for admission annually. The office works collaboratively with on-and off- campus partners to achieve university goals. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is seeking a seasonal First Year Admissions Application Reviewer for October 2026 - mid -March 2027. By joining UC San Diego’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions as a seasonal First Year Admissions Application Reviewer, you'll be part of a team that reviews over 150,000 applications for admissions annually, contributing to our mission of providing equitable access to education. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact, with an expected contribution of 1,000 applications per cycle while not exceeding 5,000 applications. This position requires attention to detail, objectivity, flexibility, and the ability to work and manage your time independently. First-Year Admissions Application Reviewers are expected to perform with a high level of integrity and will use professional judgment and comprehensive knowledge of educational processes gained through training sessions led by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. First Year Admissions Application Reviewers will be partnered with admissions staff for training and the duration of the active reading period. First Year Admissions Application Reviewers must be able to balance reading applications thoroughly while under the time-constraints of having a large applicant pool. Available Positions: Domestic Readers Compensation is $3.00 per application for the period of October 1, 2026 - early March 2027, including applications read during training. Domestic readers also receive a lump sum of $377, which includes: $143 for UC Learning Mandatory Training $156 for live training $78 for training modules to be completed prior to live training International Readers Compensation is $3.75 per application for the period of October 1, 2026 - early March 2027, including applications read during training. International readers also receive a lump sum of $403, which includes: $143 for UC Learning Mandatory Training $156 for live training $104 for training modules to be completed prior to live training Payment is processed according to UC San Diego Payroll procedures and schedules. Please note, if you are selected to read international applications, you cannot switch to domestic. If not chosen for international, you will remain a domestic reader. Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS A bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 2-3 years of work experience post-degree (or current enrollment in a graduate degree program). Experience or employment in education or a related fields (such as Community Based Organizations). Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality of applications. Materials cannot be copied, published, or posted. Individual cases cannot be discussed with non-UC San Diego readersExperience in effectively using robust web-based and/or networked applications to effectively input, access, and analyze information critical to the daily functioning of the work environment Excellent organizational and time management skills Knowledge and experience using standard computing tools including Microsoft Office applications, online databases, email, and web-based research toolsUnited States work authorization SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES MUST: Commit to read the minimum number of applications (1,000), if not exceeding it. Commit to only read applications for UC San Diego. Commit to attend and participate in designated training on either 11/4, 11/14, or 11/18 (9am-4pm, PST). This includes the ability to read student applications online, having access to necessary equipment (desktop/laptop), and secure internet. You are not able to use a tablet. UC San Diego will not provide a computer. Complete all required trainings by their respective deadlines . Perform all work remotely and securely within the United States on a personal computerSign a conflict of interest policy acknowledgement prior to the start of application review, disclosing all affiliations with secondary and post-secondary institutions, outreach programs, and community-based organizations (CBO). PER DIEM GUIDELINES Start Date of Appointment: October 1, 2026 — for completion of UC Learning mandatory training and pre-work modules. Live Virtual Training Requirement: First-Year Admissions Application Reviewers are required to attend ONE full-day virtual training session (9:00?a.m.–4:00?p.m. PST) on one of the following dates: Wednesday, November 4, 2026 Saturday, November 14, 2026 Wednesday, November 18, 2026 Active participation is required for the entire session, including keeping your camera on. Active Reading Period for the Per Diem First-Year Admissions Application Reviewers will be scheduled to work from mid-November 2026 to early March 2027. While the position runs through March 2027, most of the reading takes place in December and January. The actual reading end date often occurs earlier and varies year to year, depending on the total volume of applications and how quickly the reading goals are met.
