Position Description

Under supervision, functions as the lead painter and provides day-to-day oversight which includes: assigning, coordinating and scheduling day-to-day work for the painting shop to include preventative maintenance and repairs. Act as a liaison between paint shop personnel, supervisor, customers, EH&S, facilities Planning & Management, FE Director, outside contractors, and tradesmen. Maintains labor and material records, Issues purchase orders and prepares estimates as required. Communicates work order revisions, delays, or other problems to Supervisor or Director. Responsible for performing skilled journeyman tasks in all phases of the painting trade such as applying paint, primers, sealers, oil water and vinyl to prepared surfaces. Prepares and finishes surfaces of shelving, laboratory and office furniture and equipment. Cleans, removes and installs vinyl, rubber, asphalt, sheet vinyl, and floor coverings. May inspect and coordinate work of outside contractors. Participates in budget preparation and review. Assists supervisor with regulatory compliance, tracking and documentation. Job standards are to be performed at the EXPERT level.

Qualifications

Five (5) years directly related experience as a skilled journeyman in all painting phases. Five (5) years of experience in a hospital environment.
