About this position
Position Description
Under general supervision, and in addition to performing the full range of operational level duties, responsible for administering social service programs or relevant work. Provides social work services consisting of discharge planning, continuing care services, and clinical social work services, including crisis intervention, mandated reporting, information and referral, and coordination of health and mental health services with community providers. The Clinical Social Worker is responsible for working on the Senior Behavioral Health Unit, Medical Floors and the Emergency Department depending on staffing needs. The social worker is responsible for education and advocacy of patients, families and/or significant others. Participates in related department functions, such as community and program education. Performs all other duties as assigned. While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position.
Qualifications
A Master's degree in social work from an accredited school. At least two (2) years of post-MSW experience. Must possess the knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. Must have proven independent thinking, decision making, problem-solving and prioritizing skills. Excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and external constituents, both verbally and in writing.
