Position Description
Under Pharmacist general supervision, the Pharmacy Technician III - Population Health, will support prescription renewal requests, prior authorizations, patient assistance programs, scheduling and other clinical support activities for UCSD Health. The Pharmacy Technician will make recommendations to the Pharmacist on approval of prescription renewals and prior authorizations and communicate the result to the appropriate party. They will also assist help with patient care coordination for pharmacist providers for scheduling, medication and associated medical supply access issues and referral coordination, and assist the Pharmacist on clinical interventions impacting patient care.
Qualifications
Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) Outpatient or Home Infusion: Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience required. Experience in project management/system responsibility (e.g. Pyxis, narcotic control, QI, or pharmacy buyer/biller/analyst); OR is a Pharmacy School graduate; OR expanded responsibilities over several areas OR possess a Pharmacy Intern License.
