Position Description

The division of Medical Education within the UC San Diego School of Medicine consists of the following units: Undergraduate Medical Education, Admissions & Student Affairs, Diversity and Community Partnerships, Graduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education & Faculty Development, Simulation Education, Physician Assistant Education, Anatomical Services, Business Affairs and Educational Technology. The division supports the education, training and co-curricular activities of approximately 560 medical students, 90 physician assistant students, 1000 residents and fellows as well as the faculty, physician and healthcare providers at UCSD’s School of Medicine, its' Medical Centers, and affiliates.Under supervision, the incumbent serves Medical Teaching Labs Coordinator within the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education. Provides administrative, operational, and project support for courses, programs, and educational activities conducted within the Medical Teaching Labs. Coordinates scheduling, room utilization, instructional resources, and day-to-day operations to ensure the effective delivery of educational activities. Serves as a liaison among faculty, staff, students, and campus partners to facilitate communication, resolve logistical issues, and support a positive learning environment. Monitors lab-related processes and requirements, assists with planning and implementation of educational activities, and contributes to special projects and operational initiatives that support Undergraduate Medical Education priorities. Provides support for special projects and activities related to Anatomical Services and other anatomy-based educational initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Two (2) or more years of relevant experience. Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner. Must have excellent communication skills. Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners. Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision. Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry. Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program. Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues. Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems. Ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner. Demonstrated ability to analyze and seek solutions to enhance user experience.
