Position Description

The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a Faculty Affairs Administrator 2 to provide administrative and operational oversight of programs for the Department including faculty affairs, departmental communications, and special programs associated with departmental missions. This position provides subject matter expertise in program areas, evaluates program policies and procedures, represents the programs within the Department and to the School of Medicine and ensures compliance with school and university policies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Faculty Affairs & Search Support • Provide operational support to search/review committees and faculty mentoring/annual counseling activities; recommend process improvements • Document and interpret policies and processes for appointment/promotion contributors (chair, faculty lead, and candidate); review and edit all sections with recommendations • Track all search activities (e.g., collection of FASI data) and draft search reports • Prepare and finalize appointment/reappointment/promotion long form files, incorporating suggested changes from higher levels of review Faculty Management & Coordination • Manage all Professoriate Emeriti recalls • Coordinate rhythmic review of faculty affairs materials by DFA, Senior Associate Chair, and Chair • Prepare offer letters for chair or dean, including gathering information from other offices as needed • Serve as primary point of contact for orienting new faculty to the department, school, and university Administrative Support & Communications • Produce and develop slide presentations for Chair and senior staff, including tables, graphs and data display in multiple formats • Support Chair and senior staff with documentation and logistics for meetings, retreats, orientations, boot camps and other departmental events Other duties may also be assigned DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED) Bachelor's degree and three years of experience working with administrative processes, or combination of education and relevant experience. WORKING CONDITIONS Occasional extended hours. COMPENSATION: This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate. The expected pay range for this position is $85,283 to $101,782 per annum within the 10 Bay Area counties or $51,170 to $101,782 per annum for all other regions. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
