The Center for Definitive and Curative Medicine (CDCM) at Stanford University School of Medicine, seeks a Senior Discovery Stage Project Manager (Administrative Services Administrator 3) to direct translational research projects from the wet lab bench to GMP readiness as well as projects in the process development/analytical/optimization phase of GMP. They will provide expertise to researchers whose projects support the CDCM pipeline, directing them through the requirements to translate from bench to GMP as well as advising on opportunities for industry partnership. The Senior Discovery Stage Project Manager is a key resource for investigators, as well as liaison between research teams, CDCM leadership, the Stem Cell and Gene Therapy Clinical Trials Program, the Laboratory for Cell and Gene Medicine, and external clients. This role will specifically support a large, multi-disciplinary, cross-institution program that is high profile and high stakes. The incumbent is expected to possess strong skills in organizational and time management, communication, and adaptability. Duties include: · Lead strategic planning and analysis for complex functions or programs with significant business, regulatory and/or technical challenges requiring subject matter expertise. May provide development of program or function from initial concept to implementation. · Manage the administration and evaluation of programs or functions. Oversee the interpretation, implementation and compliance with policies and regulations. Recommend actions and/or resolve complex issues that often span organizational boundaries. · Represent the program or function at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies. · Develop and manage outreach strategy that includes relationship development, communications, and compliance. · Oversee or supervise staff in the development and implementation of programs or functions. · May develop and/or oversee budgets; manage finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting. * - Other duties may also be assigned The expected pay range for this position is $162,809 to $197,109 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced degree in medical/pharmaceutical discipline, project management or business is preferred Experience in translational research at an academic institution, in particular in the field of cell and gene therapy strongly preferred Knowledge of GLP and GMP, Stanford processes, regulations and procedures. Ability to produce Gantt Charts for project management Firm understanding of the research process including but not limited to; the development of protocol, implementation of a successful research project, and management of RA’s using project plans and coordinating teamwork assignments in the field 7 or more years of relevant work experience – i.e., in pre-clinical research, device development, pharmaceutical industry etc. – including team lead role in a research setting Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Demonstrated project management ability to employ integration, scope time management, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement components. Ability to balance customer expectations with project reality. Demonstrated resilience, diplomacy, influence, relationship building, and problem-solving skills in a variety of situations. Keen grasp of interpersonal and impact awareness. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED): Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED): Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence and motivate constituencies which could span multiple organizational organizational boundaries. Demonstrated excellent planning, organizational and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions using good business judgment and innovative and creative problem-solving. Demonstrated ability to manage financial, organizational and staff resources. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to cultivate professional and business partnerships. Relevant subject matter expertise.
