Percent time: minium percent time 11% per semester; appointment % depends on assigned teaching responsibilities Anticipated start: Positions typically start at the beginning of the semester (August 1st for Fall Semester; January 1st for Spring Semester, or May 27 for Summer) and appointments may be renewable based on the Program’s need, funding, and on lecturer performance. Review timeline: Applicants are considered for positions as needs arise; the existence of this pool does not guarantee that a position is available. Position duration: Position duration ranges from a single semester to one year

Position Description
The Department of City and Regional Planning at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers and lecturers in lieu of GSIs to teach courses in the undergraduate Urban Studies and Masters of City Planning programs. Screening of applicants is ongoing. The number of available positions varies from semester to semester (fall, spring, and summer), depending upon the needs of the department. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and using Cal’s electronic resources for course management.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications(required at time of application)Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent international degree, at the time of application. Additional qualifications(required at time of start)Advanced degree OR 3 years of teaching experience in a related field OR 3 years of relevant professional experience.
