This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. Position Description
The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles, is seeking a physician in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor level for the San Luis Obispo and Atascadero community clinic sites. An M.D., D.O, or M.D., Ph.D. from an accredited institution with appropriate clinical training and experience is required. Candidates must have a current or applied for California Medical License and be Board-Certified. Candidates must have demonstrated capabilities for teaching, professional service and/or research suitable to the HS Clinical Professor series which include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and creative scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation are dependent upon qualifications. San Luis Obispo and Atascadero are located on California’s Central coast, nestled halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, with close proximity to beautiful beaches, wine country, nature preserves, and Big Sur. The area was named America’s “happiest place to live” and is consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in the country. The surgeon will reside in the established San Luis Obispo and Atascadero Hematology/Oncology community clinics, with four/five hematologist/oncologists.
