Position title: Academic Administrator II Salary range: The expected salary range for the position is $74,842 - $82,267. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. See table 34 in the UC Salary Scales.

Position Description
The Academic Administrator at the UCLA Y&S Nazarian Center for Israel Studies (the “Center”), housed within the UCLA International Institute, will serve as the Nazarian Center’s chief administrative officer, manager of its academic activities and supervisor of Center staff. The individual will also participate in academic activities, including teaching, commensurate with his/her/their academic background and expertise. The Academic Administrator (“AA”) will report to the Director of the Center and serve as a key partner in developing and implementing the Center’s public programs, research activities, fundraising, and teaching plans. The AA will work to strengthen the center’s presence at UCLA, in Los Angeles and in the larger Israel Studies academic network around the world.
Qualifications
Basic qualificationsPhD in a humanities, social science, or related field, with specialization in Israel Studies Prior teaching experience at the college level 3-5 years of professional experience in a related position or field Experience in undergraduate education with a focus on Israel Demonstrated successful management/supervisory skills Ability to establish networks within the academic community Strong public speaking and presentation skills Experience working with lay leaders, donors, and community organizations Preferred qualificationsExperience working with academic policy and programs at a large public research university
