Position Description
The Department of Psychology is currently seeking an Academic Coordinator (part time) to manage, oversee and participate in the laboratory operations of upper division neuroscience laboratory courses in the Undergraduate Interdepartmental Program in Neuroscience and the Department of Psychology. Depending upon qualifications, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in appropriate lecture series in courses taught by regular members of the faculty. The primary responsibilities for laboratory operations in each course will include: participation in selection and development of laboratory exercises and computer-assisted learning supervision and technical training of graduate student teaching assistants coordinating and overseeing admission and registration of students in laboratory sections participation in the development and administration of laboratory examinations selection and maintenance of laboratory equipment oversight of the maintenance and use of living organisms in teaching exercises Qualifications: PhD degree or equivalent in neuroscience or a related field Experience in experimental laboratory biology Experience in teaching at a university level Experience in working with computers in scientific laboratory settings would be desirable Materials will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis through June 22, 2026 to support the department’s scheduling and planning needs. This is an academic year appointment.
