Position Description
The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music’s Global Jazz Studies IDP invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in Instruction in Advanced Jazz Performance: Saxophone for the 2026-27 academic year. Salary commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with teaching load. Applicants should have advanced expertise in group and solo instruction of a diverse mixture of jazz saxophone at the university level. Candidate should have knowledge of jazz repertoire, concepts, and techniques through private lessons on specific instruments. Responsibilities will include individual student instruction. University teaching experience preferred. A bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates should submit: a cover letter stating interest in the position, a comprehensive curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, a statement of commitments to advancing UCLA’s mission statement and a reference check authorization release form.
