About this position
Position Description
The Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Principal Technician works under supervision of the Environmental Affairs Waste Determination and Compliance Specialist 3 and performs such duties as evaluating proper locations for Knox Boxes on buildings throughout the main campus and SIO, evaluating the conditions of existing Knox Boxes, performing Knox Box key inventories, entering Knox Box locations into ArcGIS, coordinating with the campus Fire Marshal on Knox Box locations and inventory of master keys inside Knox Boxes, and preparing and submitting work orders for Knox Box installations and repairs.
Qualifications
Experience with computer databases and GIS (Geographic Information Systems). Experience coordinating tasks with various stakeholders, departmental contacts, or regulatory agencies. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional and gracious manner in person, via email, and on the telephone. Ability to walk long distances across campus terrain and climb stairs frequently. Must have a valid California driver's license and clean driving record. Graduation from high school or GED.
