About this position
Position Description
Develops, implements, and evaluates wellness programming for students at UC San Diego Creates a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Manages inventory and purchasing for Zone activities. Oversees activities of student workers who staff the lounge, including scheduling, organizing work, and coaching for improved performance. Troubleshoots facility and customer issues. Contributes to management of a new student well-being lounge opening in September 2026. Collaborates with departmental and campus partners to address multiple dimensions of wellness to support student success. Manages the daily operations of wellness zone, including staffing, programming, evaluation, marketing, and outreach to support student study and relaxation space. Utilizes skills as a seasoned, experienced health education professional with a full understanding of industry practices and campus policies and procedures to resolve a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Three (3) or more years of relevant experience. Thorough knowledge of the health promotion and education field. Thorough knowledge of the design and delivery of related programs. Understands how to conduct needs analyses for health promotion and education activities and assesses the effectiveness of interventions. Skills associated with both the development and delivery of health education programs and services. Knows how to create programs targeting a variety of subject areas of need, including but not limited to stress management, healthy eating, physical activity, smoking cessation, stress management, healthy sleep habits, etc. and how to assess effectiveness and revise as needed. Ability to use discretion, maintain confidentiality, and comply with all requirements in use of computer systems and access to any and all patient, student, employee, and University data, in electronic and hard copy formats, in compliance with University, state, and federal guidelines, including, but not limited to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
